![]() All about your Webmissus
![]() ![]() ![]() Well, folks, the one on the left is me in my finest. It was taken on a Caribbean cruise that my lovely husband John and I went on for our 25th Wedding Anniversary in November 2000. You can see me stifling a giggle, the previous photo had caught me in the same pose but looking out of the corner of my eye at my husband. The one on the right is an old one but is the typical me - always at the computer and with a mouse (and sometimes with a ciggy and glass of rum and coke) in my hand. Many is the morning I have been found still in that exact position having fallen asleep at the computer. I will say though that I now have a chair with arms on so I don't fall off the chair in my sleep.
About Me (if you are interested)
I am Joan Allan, previously Campion, nee Warrington born in Kiveton Park near Sheffield, Yorkshire on 26.12.49. I am the eldest of five children - 3 girls and 2 boys. My husband, John, and I met whilst he was a struggling student. John can boast of singing in the choir at Westminster Abbey but I can vouch for the fact that his singing voice now is very different - more of the cat's choir variety. My first marriage had broken up and both John and I were working at Pontins Holiday Camp, Weston Super Mare. We got married in Willesden, London on 8 November, 1975. We now live in Bradley Stoke near Bristol and I have lived down 'south' since 1977.
John and I adopted a son, Timothy, in 1983 and he is the apple of our eye. For an update on his reunion - just click on the blue words to be taken to the page "Timothy's Reunion". I think being an adoptive parent helps me understand the adoption triad.
I started helping reunite people on 24 April 2000 after looking for a site to place a message whereby I could find the missing schoolfriends from a School Reunion I had recently organised. I came across so many sites with messages on that seemed more important than the ones I wanted to place. People from all over the world looking for lost and loved ones. From that moment I was hooked. I wanted to help and help I did. To date - February 2002 - I believe I have reunited over 3,000 people with their friends or families.
In October 2000, Kenny Rosko offered me the website that he created - World Wide Free Search. I have chopped and changed it and eventually decided to have my own named site. Many thanks to Kenny for all his help and guidance to get me to this stage.
